    Late in chapter 3, one of the sentence enders given is かな/かなぁ. Is there anything to that second option other than being a weird spelling variant? It was my understanding that the little vowel characters would replace the vowel portion of the preceding character, but in this case it would be replacing an a with an a.

    かなぁ is a sort of drawn-out trailing off vowel. It’s a little more… I guess wistful-sounding than just かな, kind of like how you’d go “I wonder…” and trail off in English.
