So I have anki sentence cards using the above mentioned grammar points and I just can’t figure out when to use which one. i thought you use こと when you want to say things like ‘i cant listen to this music’ and ‘i can eat sushi,’ going along with the pattern that if you’re saying I in the sentence you should use it. And then you use の in sentences like ‘Writing kanji on the computer is easy.’

I know the two are interchangeable but then it’s not all the time, as I’ve been told. I keep trying to guess with my anki cards whether to use こと or の but I’m continuously getting 50/50 results.

Anyone have any tips on this?

    Thanks.
    Rhys.

The only tip I have is: read http://www.textfugu.com/season-6/nominalization/7-7/#top till the end of that chapter.
