My name is Xelthon and this is the first method I am using to learn Japanese.

I have always been an avid anime watcher and reddit user. A few months ago I started doing research on how to actually learn the language and ran across a subreddit named LearnJapanese. I saw TextFugu was highly recommended and have been doing my own research on the best methods to learn Japanese.

I give high praise to Koichi for the full first season being offered for free. I have taken the time and went through the whole thing taking notes along the way and am very ecstatic to continue on with my studies.

The reason I am learning Japanese is to listen to anime and read mangas without subtitles and minimal help. I also want to learn more about Japanese culture as some companies I am applying for full time jobs soon when I graduate from college, and some companies I have applied for are beginning relations with Japanese companies and clients. This would help tremendously when speaking with international clients or in business meetings. Lastly, if I ever come back to school for a graduate degree in a few years, I would love to study abroad in Japan.

I look forward to learning with everyone here, but right now it’s time for me to start season 2!
