My name is Alex and I, as my Dad says, am learning the hardest language out there (which isn’t a lie). But he doesn’t know that he was the one who implemented my desire to learn it.
Why are you learning Japanese?
To fulfill my curiosity of the place my father went to when he was my age and in the U.S. Navy. To be able to understand what that cylinder of Coca Cola that he brought back with him says. And to experience Japan myself in the future for whatever I do then.
I guess this would be considered my first true attempt at learning the language but I did try to learn Japanese earlier when I was maybe a Junior in High School. I have more of a resolve now, really a more better answer for the question, because I have true and utter desire, like I did then, to see Japan. It must have been my time outside of the U.S. on my own for a 10 days that I understood that this wanting is not going away. I could do anything. And this is what I want to do.
