Konnichiwa! Genki desu! (just in case one’s Hiragana is shaky)

My name is Matthew and I am studying Japanese (Nihongo no Kenkyu) because I have had a lifelong passion for most everything Japanese. I recently realized that most of my childhood was spent enjoying Japanese produced entertainment (video games, animation & music). I was of the mind that I could NEVER learn those squiggly lines (Hiragana), the straighter lines (Katakana) or the Chinese-looking death symbols (kanji, of course).

I am posting today, as a full member of one of the best resources on the web to learn Japanese, that I can read Hiragana because of it. I am grateful to be able to enunciate “Namu Myoho Renge Kyo” correctly now and start loosing my accent. ^_^
