はじめました～ 私の名前はジュリアです, と私はアメリカ人です.
…That’s the extent of my Japanese. ^_^; I’ve been using TextFugu for a few months but only became a member today. I’m almost out of the ひらがな woods, やった！ Just have dakuten and combo hirigana left. It’s amazing to me how fast I’ve learned~
*ahem* I’m learning Japanese because I want to travel to/in Japan someday and speak comfortably; because learning the language is another way to immerse myself in the culture; and, honestly, it’d be pretty neat to read Japanese books and manga untranslated, ehehe. And I just really like the language!
So. That’s why I’m here. TextFugu is probably the best resource I’ve found yet for learning Japanese! I’m so happy to have found it. Koichi is awesomesauce :DKoichi is king, え。。。
Welcome to textfugu, fellow learner. I’m well on my way to learning katakana, but kanji and anything outside of です AND ですか is pretty much new to me.

Sounds like you’ve got a handle on some things already – using kanji in sentences is great! :D
