My name is James. I’m from Portland. I already know some Japanese, and i have been to Japan twice already. but here is my reason for learning. I want to make many friends in Japan and I just want to connect with people over there more. And what better way is there, than to learn Japanese… of course! haha. I love travelling, and Japan is just such an awesome place to be. ok now besides why its just awesome over there, it is a fact that christianity in Japan is less than 1% of the entire japanese population. Now I know that a lot of people will read this, and probably just skip it, ignore, or just whatever… some crazy Jesus lover trying to convert people. No, thats not it. I completely 100% respect everyone’s believes. I just hope for the same respect in return, but if not, thats ok too. I’m not here to force anything on anyone at all. I just feel alot of people just have the wrong idea about who Jesus is. Because the Bible never tells us anywhere that Jesus forced himself on people. I personally see a need for God’s love to be spread in Japan. Even more so now because of the terrible disaster that just happened. Now when i say God’s love, i mean not human love, because i believe humans have twisted and distorted, as well as watered down what love is suppose to mean and be. I just want to love people the way Jesus intended love to be. Again this is all my beliefs. and i completely respect everyone for theirs. And Im not trying to be a friend or anything to someone just because i want to “convert” someone. thats not it at all. Jesus commands his followers to simply spread his word, and love to others. BUT, its not our job to make anyone believe. I hope one day i can save up to get back out to Japan again, and just give everything i possible have to people in need. my time, my help, my friendship, and God’s gentle love. ok. thank you so much for your time if you read all of this. よろしく!

June 24, 2011 at 12:36 pm #13267@ Adriana – Hey cool! i hope you get to too. thanks for your welcome!
@ hashi – thank you hashi!, does your name mean bridge, or chopsticks? (^_^)
@ Winter – thank you! (^_^) I went to many places in Japan. Ive probably spent about a month total in Tokyo area, and maybe about a couple weeks in Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe area. I also went to a city more north on the west coast called, Niigata! they are famous for their rice. I went there to visit Amano Takashi’s aquamarine gallery. Its in a very small town outside of Niigata CIty called Maki. Was cool to see small town in Japan. Also i have been to Fukushima City. I have a friend who is native there. and her family was very kind to show me lots of cool places around there. we went up to the mountains there. They also took me out to Iwaki which is on the coast. There is really cool aquarium there. Also i had the chance to taste Fukushima peaches! very good, but now im afraid they might be affected by the Fukushima Daiichi disaster. I pray that her family is safe. They live 40 miles from the plant. :( I have also been to Lake Kawaguchiko. It is pretty much at the base of Mt. Fuji. Very beautiful and peaceful place… and thats about it. :D
