私はライアンです!(My name is Ryan) I currently live in Phoenix Arizona and study at Arizona School for the Arts. I am a sophomore in high-school. (私はこうこうせいです。)Besides recently starting Japanese I study Classical Clarinet and Flute, along with Choral Performance at my school, along with all the other standard courses, including Spanish. I started learning Japanese because I would really like to have a strong grasp of a foreign language not of European origin, and I find Japanese culture to be interesting, fun, full of tradition, but also with a sense of modernness. Any-whooo, I am a little late in introducing myself as I am on season three, but I look forward to even more 日本語 learning in the future!

Nice Japanese! Not to criticize, (hoping to help you learn, haha) what you said first in Japanese wasn’t a “my name is” statement, rather it was an “I am” statement. “My name is” would be something like:

    私の名前はライアンです。

    Hope this helped!

Yeah, I haven’t quite learned the exact phrase yet, but I was just trying to translate the gist of the sentence xD. Thank you though; criticism is great for learning! :)

Not that there’s actually anything wrong with saying 私はライアンです…
