I just bought TextFugu today after blasting through the first season in just a couple days. The fact that I was able to able to learn all the hiragana in just two days was so awesome! I was super disappointed that I was at the end of the free lessons, but I realized that I could use this to learn so much more, so I just had to pay for the full version. I have been using Rosetta Stone to learn Japanese (I didn’t pay for it, thank god) and it does a good job, but it pretty much does nothing to help you out learning the written “alphabets” which is one of the most important parts of learning a new language.
The reason why I am trying to learn Japanese (other than wanting to watch anime without the subtitles… :P ) is that I just finished my freshman year of high-school and I am planing on going on a foreign exchange trip to Japan my senior year. And now since the school year is over and I have no summer job I have the perfect opportunity to learn a new language!
I am happy I made this purchase and I am glad to be a part of this community!
