Hello everyone! I’m from Toronto (Canada) but currently living in China until end of May. I recently went on a trip to Japan with a tour group for the first time in my life and it was everything I had imagined and more. I had the burning desire to start learning Japanese right away and apply for the JET program as soon as I can.
I’m currently studying Chinese as well (more advanced Chinese) to become a better Mandarin English interpreter, which is what I am studying for my masters. I am taking a year off after my first year of postgraduate studies to better myself and prepare for the many tests I have to take. My plans are to finish my masters program and work a year in Japan. Here are my goals for why I am studying Japanese~

-I want to be able to read recipes on Cookpad in Japanese.
-I want to be able to travel to Japan alone and not stay in English speaking areas. Like onsen ryokan in the mountains >~<
-I want to live and work in Japan either through the JET program or something else.
-I want to read manga and watch anime/shows without the need of translation and subtitles.
