    こんにちは!初音だよ。よろしく!
I’m a 23-year old resident of Dallas, TX. I was born and raised in South Carolina but moved to the Dallas area in July. I have been engaged since 29 December 2009 and we still don’t have any set plans for marriage just yet!
The reasons I wrote for learning Japanese are as follows:
    1) I am learning Japanese because I want to learn a second language. Languages have always been very interesting to me and have always made traveling so much more fun and exciting. It also helps with understanding anime and popular Japanese music!
    2) I am learning Japanese because I want to converse with friends from around the world and within the United States. My fiance is fluent in conversational Japanese and it’s always been an interest of mine to one day be able to talk to him in Japanese. I also have many friends who are learning or are fluent as well and I’ve always wanted to talk to them and see how their day is going in Japan!
    3) I am learning Japanese because I want to better my English grammar skills. I graduated from college with a major in English and a focus in business and professional writing. What better way to learn more about my own language’s grammar than to learn the differences between it and Japanese grammar!
I guess that basically explains some information about me. Thanks for having me!

Hi Elle and welcome! And congrats on the long engagement even if you don’t have a date set :)

Having your fiancé knowing some Japanese must be such a blessing as well as having fellow friends learning. Hopefully they can all keep you motivated and make learning that much more enjoyable! I think you’ll find the grammatical differences quite interesting. I know that my English grammar skills Improved immensely once I understood French so I’m sure Japanese will have a similar effect (not affect right? I always screw that one up. Lol).

Anywho, just wanted to wish you a warm welcome and best of luck with your studies!! :)
