    皆さん、こんにちは!

    私はSatoshi(智)です。日本語が少し分かりますでもまだ上手じゃありませんよ。

    よろしくおねがいします!

    Hello everyone!

I’m Satoshi. I know a little bit of Japanese but I’m not very good at it yet. Actually, I’ve studied Japanese for about three years but I haven’t really looked at it in about a year now so much has been forgotten. I was actually a student of Koichi’s waaay back in the day when he taught over at eduFire. I’m nowhere near the level I should be at for the amount of time I’ve spent trying to learn but I’m still here trying! I’m actually at kind of a strange level (definitely still a beginner though). I’ve previously completed Heisig’s Remembering The Kanji but I’ve forgotten most of what I’ve learned. So I’m left being terribly familiar with a very large number of kanji and how they’re written, but unable to recognize or write most except for the most basic characters. As for Japanese itself (and not just kanji), I can understand small phrases but have trouble producing anything meaningful (I can write “It’s an apple” but not “I ate dinner at my house tonight” [although I'd probably understand this second phrase, I'm unsure of the grammar] ).

I want to be able to write whatever I want in Japanese in a daily journal. My old learning methods won’t work for me anymore and so I needed something new. I’m familiar with Koichi’s teaching style and the quality of his work so I decided I would use TextFugu as a way to fill in the holes in my knowledge and learn some new things, too. So, here I am! Pleasure to meet you all.
