Hi! I’m Netano (also Tiffany). I’m a 23 year old from West Virginia. I’ve been studying Japanese off and on since high school. I took two years of Japanese classes in college which gave me a pretty good foundation in grammar but not a whole lot else, as much as I liked our professor. I want to study Japanese because I’m a fan of Vocaloid and UTAU, and I would like to write music in Japanese one day. I also want to be able to communicate with the Japanese side of the fandom, especially since they have more resources and tutorials available. I’m also a fan of anime and manga, literature, music in general, travel, and video games. Japanese horror RPGs are some of my favorites (mostly Ib and The Crooked Man/The Sandman). よろしくおねがいします!

Welcome! I did a three-year Japanese course at uni, and apparently after the second year I’d pretty much learnt all the grammar there was to know. Or so they said, anyway. Think I’ve forgotten most of it, though – tsk.

You planning to visit Japan at any point?

Going to Japan is more or less my biggest life goal. Or at least the one I’m most passionate about. I’ve been to the UK (though I didn’t get to travel outside London) and Ireland, but only with a lot of help from my parents, and unfortunately finances are super tight these days so that’s not an option for Japan. I wanted to study abroad there but my college’s program didn’t really fit me very well. I still haven’t finished my degree, so if/when I go back to school that might be a possibility if I can get financial aid.

PS I can’t stop looking at your avatar ahhhhhh so cute <3
