    I know that both of them mean “thing” but I’m not sure as to when they are used, and how they are used. Concrete explanations would be nice :)

    事 is an intangible thing, or an activity.
    物 is a physical object.

    For example, 食べる事 would be the actual act of eating. 食べる物 would be a thing that you eat.
