I got to the point where we’re taught the 列 kanji. It is said that the on’yomi readings for it are れつ and れい. Jisho.org , on the other hand, gives レツ and レ, and a bunch of examples in none of which 列 is pronounced れい / レイ.
(On a side note, I wish on’yomi readings were written in katakana on TextFugu, since it can only help remembering which reading is which with a little bit of visual memory.)
Then I found 例 in the vocab flashcards as part of the word 例外. It’s the same kanji plus one radical, but it doesn’t appear in the TextFugu kanji list. According to jisho.org, this kanji would be the one which on’yomi reading is レイ.
Can I assume there’s been a confusion between these two similar kanji (or maybe just a mistake on the first one, the second one being a remnant of the older version)?
