こんにちは! 始めまして. 私はNelem Naru です。 よろしく。 Hello! Nice to meet you. I am Nelem Naru.

To answer the question: “Why am I learning Japanese?”
I first started wanting to learn Japanese so I can understand anime, manga, and J-pop without English subtitles or translation. Then last summer I got to visit Japan for a month. I had a great time, but it would have been even better if I understood Japanese and could talk with the people. After the trip I found WaniKani and signed up for the beta. The prospect of reading Japanese (such as light novels or visual novels) excited me. As I’m learning the kanji and vocab, I realized I also need grammar, which TextFugu is for. After reading about the upcoming “Kuma” project Koichi is working on, and that TextFugu Forever accounts before it goes live will get forever accounts there, I decided to join the group. I look forward to when I will be able to take on the advanced stuff. I have decided I want to work in Japan, probably as a JET at first, so I’m trying to take in all the language learning I can.

aight, but just putting this out, you might want to say 初めまして instead of 始めまして

Ah! My bad. “始めまして” came up first in my IME drop list. I haven’t learned the proper kanji for this word yet.

Such is the danger of homophones. Sometimes it’s safer to just avoid kanji if you’re not sure which is which. =)
