Just curious, but what are the differences between 時（じかん） and 時間（じかん）? And can someone give me a few examples? On Anki, 時 is ‘time’ while 時間 is time AND occasion.

Sorry, typo there. 時 should be とき.
時 （じ or とき） can mean hour, or ‘when’
ie) ４時に行きました。 (I went at 4:00) (よじにいきました。）
子供の時はカナダに住んでいました。 (When I was a child, I lived in Canada) （こどものときかなだにすんでいました。）時間 (じかん）on the other hand, means a period of time.
ie) 昨日は４時間、日本語を勉強しました。 (Yesterday, I studied for 4 hours) （きのうはよじかん、にほんごをべんきょうしました。）時間 refers to time interval or when it’s time to do something
〇〇二時間かかります。 ________takes two hours.
行く時間ですよ。 It’s time to go.時(とき) refers to the time something happened or the time when things were a certain way (that made sense…)
中国に行った時に〇〇。 When I went to China ________.
大学生ときに〇〇。 When I was a college student ________.At least that’s some of it.
