Hey guys! I’m writing a video presentation for my Japanese class that’s due on friday and stupidly I picked Vegetarianism. Not because its a dumb topic but because in Japan its just not really talked about, so theres not that much to say.

I know we have a few resident vegetarians that might have done some research and if anyone can let me know additional info that would be great!

I already know that its pretty rare, and that its hard to avoid food with meat. I also know that the only really significant vegetarianism seems to come from Buddhist, but thats about it. So anything vegetarians, or especially people who live in Japan could tell me would be very useful! Thanks!

I’m vegetarian/vegan but I’m afraid I can’t help much. I’ve heard it’s getting easier to be vegetarian or even vegan in Japan; it just takes some effort. I know there’s a blog all about it… let me see if I can remember…

    Here’s one of them – http://veganjapan.blogspot.com/

And another article (great blog all around btw) – http://www.justhungry.com/followup-report-being-vegan-japan

    Good luck!
