    うそじゃないよ。ほんとうに覚えてるんだ。
    1. うそ – a lie… isn’t it?

    2. うそじゃない – not a lie (causal form)
what does the よ at the end do – emphasis!
    うそじゃないよ = It’s not a lie!/I’m not lying!

    3. ほんとうに = Really

    4. んだ = something along the lines of “the fact is that…”

    5. うそじゃないよ。ほんとうに覚えてるんだ。It’s not a lie. The fact is I really remember (it).

    I think.

    1. うそ = Lie
    2. うそじゃない = Not a lie. よ adds emphasis.
    3. ほんとうに = really/truly
    4. Sorry, but there are plenty of resources online that explain んだ better than I can, so I’m not going to try :p
    5. “It’s not a lie! I really do remember.”

I answered these correctly in my head (and by correct, I mean concurrent with Ryuugyuu’s and Elenkis’ answers haha), and since there are already perfectly good answers posted, I won’t bother posting them again. I don’t wanna appear as if I’m not bothering to try these mini sentence questions/lessons, I really am, I’m just saying :P.

    1. What’s an うそ? – A lie
    2. What’s うそじゃないよ and what does the よ at the end do? – Not a lie, the よ asserts this.
    3. What is ほんとうに? – Really
    4. What is the んだ do at the end? Hint: Comes from のだ – unsure
    5. What’s the whole sentence? – It’s not a lie. I really remember.

This stuff is still a little hard for me. But I’m fairly confident with the first few answers 

*edit* It’s good to see my answers seem close to the others :D

    “うそ” means “Lie”

“うそじゃないよ” means “It’s not a lie!”. The “よ” adds assertion and is similar to the “you know” we put at the end of sentences in English sometimes.

“ほんとうに” means “really”, although it is actually “ほんとう” which means “Real” or “Truth” with the particle “に” which makes it into the adverb “really”.

んだ makes this a conclusion, or an explanation. Similar to “the thing is”. It makes this sentence sound a little whiney to me. :P

“It is not a lie! I really do remember!” is what I would translate the sentence as.

Another great late-night exercise! Very easy, but a great review as well. :3

    うそじゃないよ。ほんとうに覚えてるんだ。

    1. What’s an うそ?

    “Lie”

    2. What’s うそじゃないよ and what does the よ at the end do

“It’s not a lie!” and the よ makes it an assertion, kind of like saying “you know” at the end

    3. What is ほんとうに?

“Really” (“really” as in “truth” and “for realzies”)

    4. What is the んだ do at the end? Hint: Comes from のだ

んだ shows the speaker is explaining something. It’s the casual form of のだ

    5. What’s the whole sentence

“I’m not lying. I really do remember.” or “It’s not a lie. I really do remember”

    1. What’s an うそ?
うそ means: no way!, it literallly means : lie!
    2. What’s うそじゃないよ and what does the よ at the end do
うそじゃないよ means: it’s true, or literally: it’s not a lie. よ is for assertion.
    3. What is ほんとうに?
    ほんとうに means : really?
    4. What is the んだ do at the end? Hint: Comes from のだ
    no idea sir.
    5. What’s the whole sentence?
    うそじゃないよ。ほんとうに覚えてるんだ。
    It’s not a lie. I really remember.

    1. I think it means 嘘 – “lie”.
    2. As I’ve learned in Season 3 Lesson 9, よ is a sentence ender indicating Assertion. So, I’d translated this part as “That’s not a lie!” or “I’m not lying!”.
    3. As far as I know, it means “truly”, “really”.
    4. From what I could find out, I’d say it indicates a confident conclusion.
    5. I’d translate it “That’s not a lie! (I’m not lying!) I really do remember it!”
    [Update]
Well, this time all my answers seem to have landed in the correct range.
