Why am I studying Japanese …again?
My wife and I decided we will go to Japan for our 10th wedding anniversary when we got married 2 years ago. I want to be able to make travel arrangements, navigate, read historical information and make conversation in Japanese. I want to introduce myself and my wife, Kim, to Japanese culture.
Goal: Talk to someone about a cool place, figure out how to get there, make arrangements and go and have a great experience.
Goal: Read a poem in Japanese and translate it (loosely) for Kim.
Maybe I will even be able to have a discussion with a monk about meditation…-

I like reading peoples reasons for learning Japanese but I love it when they are unique and/or reasons I haven’t heard from anybody else before.
