Does past tense somewhat imply a change to the present?
I rolled into niconico live the other night and happened to find k-1 world max finals streaming in 3 minutes. Score. I was talking to Japanese people in the comments who were watching and got this after we merged into a discussion about foreign k-1 fighters:
“ミルコクロコップが好きでした。”
This is just one example, but I see it a lot. What seems to be, and should be, a present statement is said in past tense. Does it imply their view has changed since then and they now don’t really blah blah x blah y etc?
