    Hello my friends.

My name is Ryuukun and well… I’m not exactly new here, but I also have never really been part of this community, even though I introduced me before.
Oh how great it is to have a lifetime account I tell you. I just wasn’t ready when I last tried to learn Japanese, but who cares? I can just jump right back into it thanks to the wonders of one time payment. And even though I own this account for years now without ever using it, I never regretted buying it in the first place. Maybe I am ready now to learn Japanese, or maybe I’ll be ready someday else. No matter what, I can jump straight back into TextFugu and that’s just great (brag).

Anyways, since no one here knows who the frack I am, here’s my introduction.

My name is Sven and I’m from Germany.
I just turned 25 (I already got some grey hair omg :x) and I’ve been trying to get the motivation to learn Japanese for 12 years now.
My reason to learn Japanese used to be Anime, but I kinda grew out of it you could say. Though I still enjoy it, I got bored with most of it and I believe that’s the reason my last attempt failed.

Nowadays I don’t care as much about Anime anymore but I still really like Japan. I especially like igo (囲碁) which I’ve been playing and studying for a year now. Igo also taught me how much fun it can be to learn something. Before I couldn’t find pleassure in learning, but now I can. I hope to someday be able to study igo abroad for a little while and preferably in Japan. No idea if that’s ever gonna be possible for me but hey, at least there is reason behind my third attempt now.

    Let’s hope there won’t be a number 4 shall we? :)

Welcome!! I hope this time goes better for you!

I found it helped to follow the jvlogging community on Youtube. Lots of super awesome people there (I can make some recommendations if you want). All Japanese All The Time (http://www.alljapaneseallthetime.com/blog) is also a pretty good place to go for some additional learning material/suggestions.

There are SO many resources available on the internet – I highly advise using more than just one. It makes it easier to make sure you’re doing SOMETHING related to learning Japanese. Some times I just don’t feel like doing TF, but if I skip a day of learning it actually ruins my motivation and I end up feeling pretty down. By having other stuff there to support me, it really helps to get some serious learning done.

Just a thought! Best of luck on round three! :D
