はじめまして。わたしはきみこです。よろしくおねがいします!
And there goes my useful knowledge of Japanese!
I recently bought a month of TextFugu, and I’ve been given the task of introducing myself (DUH), so here I am!
My Japanese name is Kimiko, but I mostly use it because I haven’t gotten into Katakana yet. :/ :D
My goal/reason for learning Japanese is to make vlogs in Japanese (like Ciaela and Ryuzaki1311) because it looks like fun, and to be able to communicate when I fly to Japan in March.
Personally, I just love the sound of the language, and would love love love to be able to speak it. I suppose I’m one of the more motivated in the bunch, but that’s just my “Honors Kid” coming out. :D
As far as learning goes, it started out with venturing into subtitled Japanese media, and wanting more, like for example being able to understand it. That soon turned into an interest with Japan itself, and enrolling for Japanese 1-2 at my high school. I’m looking forward to possibly excelling past my peers, and coming to class in the nearly distant future understanding the language more thoroughly. I have always liked to understand why things are the way they are, and have grammatical base to learn from.
So, all in all, I am using this as a supplementary resource, and I hope to be looked upon with kindness in this community!Sorry it was so long!
Thanks,
JacquelineOctober 23, 2011 at 9:00 pm #19684こんばんわ、ようこそ きみこ/Jacqueline !
That’s pretty awesome that your high school had Japanese, the best mine had was an anime/manga after school club. I’m also super motivated about the language all together, I love it! I just finished season 2 myself, so I’m about to start on Katakana. :D
Anyway, I hope you enjoy your time here.
またね!
October 23, 2011 at 9:09 pm #19685So cool, I want to be a jvlogger too but ciaela and ryuuzaki far outstrip my speaking ability. I’m sure you can do it too if you try hard…(you looked kinda like micaela….and as all the dudes know, micaela is mad cute). Anyway, good luck. Off to watch ryuuzaki videos and cry
October 24, 2011 at 3:59 am #19693Welcome to TextFugu, Kimiko!
I follow both Micaela and Grace (but Grace especially because she’s British (like me) and nearly the same age as me). They are both very inspiring and dedicated people.
Good luck learning Japanese.
October 24, 2011 at 9:07 am #19709Hi Jacqueline, welcome to TextFugu! That’s exciting that you’re heading to Japan in March, what takes you there? School?
October 25, 2011 at 8:33 pm #19793Thanks for the warm welcome! ^u^ I’m going to Japan because my Grandfather was invited on a business trip and he’s kind enough to take me. We have a guide and all, but it would still be cool to understand what’s going on. :D
I think my favorite part about TextFugu is that it is still a smaller community, and you really get that personal feel from it. Whether that be the way the text is written, the reliability of getting a hold of everyone, or the fact that everyone gets a little welcome from Hashi, professional Starcraft-playing-procrastinator [ ;) ].
