hey i have a pc, windows 7 and the tutorials for anki are for mac. i’m tryin to create my passion list deck and i cant figure it out. helllp
Oh good lord, I thought I was the only one having an issue. Yep, trying to import sentences into my main TextFugu sentences deck, with no instructions for PC. I’ll second Aybar-さん！ Help please!
Can you specify what the problem is? :)
To create a deck in Anki 2, hit the “Create deck” button, as shown in this picture:
Then you simply hit “Add” and type in your words.
To import a deck, hit the “Import” button. There are multiple ways to move/merge decks.
The way I do it is to hit the “Browse” button and find the deck I want to move. Then I select all of them (Ctrl+A) and hit the “Change deck” button. Here I choose the deck I want the cards to be moved to and hit “Move cards” :)

are you using Anki version 1 or 2?
I started with Anki2 for … 5 minutes ;), then I changed to Anki1.The tutorial is for Anki1 and besides that it is for Mac (sorry Mac user here ;)) I don’t think there are so much difference between Mac and Win.
However Anki2 changed so much compare to version1, regarding the usage it seems a total different program – too confusing for me.
If you have Anki2 and you want to downgrade, there is no loger a support and that does also include the help pages for Anki1

Anki 1 does not sync to the web, which is a big reason for me to use Anki 2, so I have a backup of my decks and I can download/upload cards on my smartphone.
well that problem is solved but now i can’t download the japanese plugin for anki. and i am having trouble downloading the first sentences deck. i try to extract the files but i get a error message
again, the japanese plugin issue is because the mac tutorial is different from pc. should i try downloading anki 2?
Yes, go with Anki 2. It works fine here (Windows 7).
