This may have been answered already but I don’t see anything about it.

When I downloaded the first two batches of Anki Sentences, everything worked fine. The zipped folder had a .anki file, a .media folder, and a .media file that didn’t seem to have any purpose (it didn’t have any content, either) After I deleted the .media file, the .media folder and the .anki file went to Anki just fine. However, when I downloaded the Radicals1 folder, there was no .media folder, there was only a .media file with nothing on it! I can’t get this radical.anki file to import to Anki. What should I do?

It’s best not to delete any files or folders to do with Anki. The .anki file is the file which Anki reads and adds the information to the deck. The media folder is needed if the deck contains audio files or in the case of radicals, some .png images. In the Kanji decks there’s no media folder at all.

The Radicals1 archive should have a media folder with nothing in it. Redownload it and try adding again.

Thanks for the help! After redownloading it and fighting with it for a while, I got it to work. I didn’t get an empty media folder, though–just a 0 KB .media file. I wonder why…

Hmm, that’s strange. I don’t get any files at all in the media folder. Here a screenshot of how the radicals1 archive looks on my computer when I open it up with WinRar http://postimage.org/image/qah4w7kjb/full/
