Anyone else having serious issues importing decks to current decks? Every time I open a deck, and try to import additional cards, it just makes a whole new deck for them. I can’t find anywhere on how to merge them. Every guide online seems to be for the old Anki (which actually looks much better than 2). I’ve got three decks on sentences and I’m pretty sure they are all supposed to be in the same deck or else the SRS is a bit pointless. Any help would be soooo appreciated! So far this Anki business is what has been the most frustrating thing of learning Japanese! Thanks in advance!

Ahh I’ve actually answered this question but it was a long time ago…

From the main screen, click “Browse” and then on the left select the deck you want to take cards from. Select the cards you want to move (or click on one and then ctrl + A to select all of them), then click “Change Deck” and select the destination deck, then click “Move Cards”. You can delete the deck after, since it will be empty now. All of your study data moves with the cards too, fyi.

    Good luck!

P.S. Don’t worry, as great as Anki is, they really didn’t put a ton of time into the interface. It isn’t the most intuitive thing ever lol.

I have had the same issue with anki2, and solved it a little differently. When I import a new deck and it shows up separate, I grab the new deck with the mouse and drag it to the deck I want it to be a part of. It adds it as kind of a ‘sub deck’ and the main deck will have a little + sign next to it. Haven’t had any issues with functionality that way so far.

    Hope it helps!

Thanks Justin and Tousuta. Tousuta, that’s exactly what I had to do too. My husband figured it out. lol I hadn’t seen that idea on ANY guide online or anything! So silly. Finally, all in one deck!
