Hello new pretty people,
I’m a 30 (31 in about 2 weeks!) year old woman in Paris France. I first learned japanese during my first year in junior high, because that was the only way to get into that particular school. Japanese was just a means to a goal, but I discovered an awesome world made of big eyed colorful mangas, kimonos, kid’s writing books, Keroppi, and all the anime i had been watching since i was like 6. I stayed a year, moved away and never really thought about it again.
Then a few years ago i dicovered a korean movie > learned about korean dramas > started watching japanese dramas. Until it started bothering me that i had remnents of grammar that kept coming back to me, and i’m the excessively curious kind and i HAVE to know stuff, so i started my journey on self learning japanese “again” but this time seriously.
Since when I’m into something i collect all the books i can about it, i have a good number, that i never finished lol
So im really a fake beginner. Used Kana Pict-o-graphix (worked amazingly fast for me).
Anyway I found this place here that looks awesome, and can’t wait to learn new things. I like how i feel supervised and how when i read the lessons i feel a real one on one relationship lol
My ultimate goal would be to be able to play the DS game “Tokimeki Memorial Girl’s Side 3rd season” without the need for a patch. And then any ol’ JP game on my very own (gasp!!) (please don’t laugh pretty people!!)
I also love most about the culture, their manners, etiquette, etc…Thank you for your time, and of course YoroshikuOnegaishimasu ! (When at work i can only type in romaji UGH!)
August 5, 2011 at 8:20 am #15101At least you have learned to hate romaji. :)
Welcome to TextFugu!
Good luck learning Japanese.
August 5, 2011 at 8:48 am #15103Hey there! Welcome to TextFugu, and good luck learning Japanese (“again” :P)!
August 5, 2011 at 10:14 am #15108well not so much hate romaji as hate not being able to do what i want when i want : stupid admin only option !!
again? wait was i here before?
oh again because of school (mental head slap) yeah barely lol only hiragana i remembered perfectly were あのか that’s it lool
とにかく ほんとに merci for the warm welcome
And i’ll do my best ! Hashi’s thumb up !
August 6, 2011 at 3:36 am #15133Bienvenue, ioukta! C’est bon d’avoir quelqu’un avec qui pratiquer mon français! lol (hope I didn’t say anything absurd, my French is kinda rusty, even though the first school I went to when I was a kid was a French one)
Nice having you here! I’m also kind of a fake beginner, like yourself. And I only signed up a few days ago. But I’ve been studying again since the start of the year, so I’ve made some progress already.
You like Tokimeki? That’s cool! Are you a fan of 恋愛 games in general? There’s absolutely no reason for laughing about wanting to play Japanese video games, there are tons of them that have never been translated and I also would love to be able to understand them.
Well, がんばってください!
August 6, 2011 at 8:40 am #15135Eh chapeau Francisco, pas de faute du tout, même sur pratiquer bien joué, pas de problème, quand tu veux.
well not all 乙女 games really. I like this franchise because of the simple life sim, the multiple answers, the different possible endings… but a couple more id like to try, that are not just ビジュアルノベル、thats just boring to me. another one on my list is 暗闇の果てで君を待つ its an otome thirller game, with of course a lot of text that i NEED to learn to read lol
がんばるよ!!August 7, 2011 at 7:27 am #15151Good morning and welcome to the forums! I’m excited to see another lady here. :) We’re being overrun by men! Good luck with your studies!

August 8, 2011 at 6:12 am #15166Welcome ioukta!
I think you the first other french person I find on here. (French myself too)!
Hope you can pick up where you left off, as you can learn so much here. And like you mentioned the feeling of being supervised here is a neat thing and the forums come in handy as well.I guess we have something in common…we are learning a third language (Japanese) using our second learned language (English). Am I right?! :D
There's always money in the banana stand!August 8, 2011 at 6:37 am #15167Hey Cassendra let’s take over this place !!
Arashi merci merci, bien sympa, you know french methods stink BIG TIME!!! why are we bad at coming up with methods and yet speak other languages a lot more than the US who come up with great methods, and yet can heardly speak anything that is not english lool (i mean the monocultural basic american lol)
August 9, 2011 at 10:58 am #15246Lol, I’ll second that !! It is so true.
I noticed you talked about korean movies, if you need some good or sometimes weird japanese movies recommendations. Be my guest! And it’s good fun while watching and processing the new words you learned as well, I like to think it does help in a way…

Looks like someone has common sense and figured out where to post.
On top of that, I like 恋愛漫画
