I just made an exercise regarding negative tense dict. form. On the practice sheet it says that the dictionary past for damasu is “damatta”.
Shouldn’t it be damashita ?thanks in advance
(sorry it’s not written in kana, haven’t got the japanese keyboard installed yet )日本語べんきょうはすごいですねHaving trouble finding which practice sheet you’re talking about exactly, but yeah, the dictionary past form for だます should be だました. Unless the mistake is that the verb should be だまる, in which case the given past tense is completely correct. Kinda think it’s the latter – my gut says Koichi is more likely to use だまる as an example than だます.
I think it is a mistake in the practice sheet. Your explanation makes sense a lot of sense too. Thanks for replying, Joel.
