Sorry for not having more detail, but I’ll do my best to describe the show.
I saw a show in Japan last year that I really enjoyed in spite of my very poor language skills. I don’t know what it’s called, but it seems like a good show to help me practice listening when I need a break from actual studying.
As I recall it was a game show that had two families competing using rules similar to the following:
* When it was one of the family’s turn they’d start with the youngest child who would be shown an English phrase. He could either pass to an older family member, or try to write the phrase in Kanji.
* If he passed then an older sibling would have a choice of answering or passing, until someone in the family would accept the challenge.
* When they accepted the challenge they would write what they thought the answer was.
I found this show quite fun to watch even though I didn’t understand most of what was being said. Additionally, it was interesting because the family members would wear the uniforms or outfits of their respective stations. The sons would wear boys’ school uniforms, the daughters either middle or high school uniforms based on their age, and the fathers would wear business suits.
I also loved watching the personalities of the family members. In the episode I watched I noticed that the women tended to pass more to their elders, and the younger males tended to pass less, and as a result get more wrong answers. Also, the fathers tended to be power houses of getting the answers right, and would write their answers with flare.
Anyone else see this show, or know what it is called?
