Hi! So, does anybody know anything about Etoeto? I was following when it was codenamed “Kuma”, and I didn’t realize that the Alpha site is up! I tried to sign up for the lifetime account, but it says that the product’s “sold out”. Has anybody heard anything about when more memberships will become available?
January 9, 2014 at 10:17 pm #43308When Koichi releases his rewrite of TF, it is supposed to include the content from etoeto.
Do you have a lifetime sub to TF?
January 10, 2014 at 12:19 pm #43336Yeah, I do. So, I guess etoeto.com is just a side website for the people who want the Etoeto content, but not the whole Textfugu content? Interesting… And, thanks! I knew Koichi was re-doing Textfugu, but I didn’t realize that it would incorporate the Etoeto stuff.
January 10, 2014 at 1:00 pm #43339If you have a lifetime sub to TF, you should be able to access the site.
Go here: http://etoeto.com/
At the top, click on the link that says ‘sign up’.
It should then show you the following:
Access Is By Invite-Only:
Are you already a TextFugu Forever member and did you join before June 10, 2013?
Click: Yes
You should be able to get in from there.
I don’t know if you have tried this or not though.
January 10, 2014 at 4:31 pm #43347I did. That’s what prompted me asking about it. That link takes you to the page about how to use the codes and your email to “purchase” the account, and when you go to the purchase page you get “You cannot add “Lifetime Member” to the cart because the product is out of stock.”
January 10, 2014 at 10:54 pm #43353I would try e-mailing Koichi directly.

I don’t see any link that says “sign up”. I have lifetime membership and I am logged in.
January 24, 2015 at 9:20 pm #47378Yea I’m a lifetime member and all I see is a “Coming Soon” page.
January 25, 2015 at 2:00 pm #47382Near as I understand, it’s been disabled because they’re going to be actually releasing it fairly soon (fingers crossed).
February 5, 2015 at 12:21 pm #47448I’m also getting stymied at the “join” step, though I have a lifetime textfugu acct.
I shall wait impatiently.
February 6, 2015 at 11:50 am #47451This is the first time I saw the register or sign in bar at the top of the etoeto page, so I went to sign up and it said my email wasn’t on the invitation list even though I’m a textfugu forever member. Is there somewhere I can opt in?
February 6, 2015 at 2:13 pm #47452Says that for me too. Just be patient it may take them a while to add everyone onto the alpha list. A LOT of people, including myself, purchased a lifetime membership over New Year’s.
February 7, 2015 at 10:06 pm #47463I’ve been a lifetime Textfugu member since around December 2012, and Wanikani lifetime at the same time. I don’t know how the alpha invites work, but I’m assuming that emails associated with them can receive alpha invites? I tried to register, with the one email address associated with both accounts, but got the “Email is not on our invitation list. We are working towards opening up EtoEto to more users!” message. Is anyone able to join the site at all at the moment? I plan on just waiting for EtoEto to relaunch and hopefully get some info from TextFugu / Koichi.

I get the same message. Have only been a member since October last year though.
February 8, 2015 at 12:38 am #47467I’ve been a lifetime Textfugu member since around December 2012, and Wanikani lifetime at the same time.
How have you been a wanikani lifetime member since 2012?
I cite this email sent December 2014.WaniKani Lifetime Memberships – January 1-9:
This isn’t really a sale, but it is a limited time offer. We’ll be offering a way for current WaniKani members to upgrade to a WaniKani Lifetime subscription. For those of you who don’t know, this kind of membership doesn’t actually exist right now and it’s the first time we’ve offered this. This is only valid for current paid members, though, so if you’re interested you should get a WaniKani account. -
