I had the strangest dream.  I don’t actually remember what happened in the dream, but what’s strange was that it was in Japanese!   Now, I’m a total beginner–I only started learning in earnest about three weeks ago–so most of the dream wasn’t really in Japanese.  It was in faux-Japanese gibberish, with the hundred or so vocab I do know scattered throughout.

The truly remarkable thing is that I was recalling vocab in my dream that I keep forgetting in my Anki deck!  I was understanding them when spoken, and using them when needed.  When I woke up I repeated some of the words to myself and checked the definitions to make sure it hadn’t just been a trick of my dream making me think I knew the words when in fact I didn’t.

But, no, my comprehension on my reviews shot way up today after the dream!  I thought I didn’t know those Japanese words, but apparently I did–somehow.
