I’m off to Japan on the 14th of January and since a lot of you are obviously interested in Japanese culture I thought those of you with instagram might want to check out some of the photos I share :). You will be able to see them at instagram.com/zachradge (@zachradge).

I’ll make sure to follow you back as well :D

    Thanks
    -Zach

Unfortunately we didn’t have time to tour the whole country this year, so we’re spending only two weeks there. After landing we’re catching a bus to はくば (5 hours north-west of Tokyo), staying in ‘traditional’ Japanese rooms (It’s got an onsen inside the room!). We’ll ski, and tour the country side there for a week before leaving to spend another week in Tokyo and the surrounding areas.

So yeah it should be fun :D. I’ve got tickets to see the sumo wrestling and was given tickets to see snow monkeys from my parents. The only plans I really have other than that is to visit Akihabara and maybe Ginza.

Any other things I must do whilst in Tokyo?

Ghibli Museum, without a doubt. Tokyo Tower and/or Skytree? Or just find some random neighbourhood and go wander. =)

I’ve been making a big list of stuff to do next time I can go to Japan, I think largely because they’re places I saw on TV shows which looked pretty. Not sure how exciting they’d be for you. Or which are doable in winter. My Tokyo list includes things like Mount Takao, the Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum, Ivan’s Ramen, Arisugawa Park in Hiroo, Todoroki Keikoku and Funabashi in Setagaya, have a ride of the Enoden in Kanagawa or the Toden Arakawa streetcar line. Et cetera.

    Hi Zach,

I’m also planning a trip to Japan this July and for a month. So I wonder how much was your budget for this 2 weeks and I asume you where most of the time near Tokyo.

Cheers and nice pics by the way
