I know this is an introduction tread, I think its the best place to say goodbye, as my account has just expired, and with the new format, I don’t intend to renew. Good luck to everyone who still intends to continue their subscription! Maybe when the next reformat comes, I’ll return, who knows….
September 24, 2011 at 9:00 am #17676I hope you find something that suits you better. Good luck.
September 24, 2011 at 2:57 pm #17684I’d leave too but… I got a forever account for $40 so I may as well stick around :P
さよなら、マーク・・・ さよなら。日本語は頑張って下さい!^ー^
Check back in a few months for a new format (and ZERO new lessons!! XD). I think the TF team spend more time reformatting than actually writing content… ¬.¬
September 25, 2011 at 11:22 am #17705Wow, how’d you swing that?
さよなら、頑張ってください!いつか、再び会うでしょう!
I will, I totally agree, and I mentioned it Koichi. I thought the site was great the way it was, and they spend at least 50% of their time redesigning, and not always for the better, if they stopped redesigning, they could be done S4 by now (old seasons)
September 27, 2011 at 8:45 am #18047Sorry to see you go :( Hit me up if I can help you with Japanese if you run into any troubles on your own.
And also, just to clear a few things up…
The last couple months there’s been at least 5 new lessons and quite a bit of kanji…
I spent 3 days working on the redesign (4 if you count bug squashing on Monday), start to finish. All other time has been on other non-redesign-ish things. Redesign was actually pretty minimal (just a few small changes, and fixing some backend things) and mostly to set things up for the increased review chapters, ‘Sentences’ Anki deck, and the practice pages.
I’m sure it seems like there’s a lot of redesign work going on… but I think I spend very little time redesigning in the grand scheme of things :/
If it makes you feel any better a new guy is starting next month, and he will be in charge of design, coding, and so on… that way you know I’ll almost never be touch that kind of thing again… or at least not too often ;)
September 27, 2011 at 1:55 pm #18103Thanks man, you’ve been a great help with my japanese over the last four months, and I intend to return in the not too distant future (in fact, I was thinking, and although the mobile version is awkward as of now, and I’m basically up to date so far, if I were to sign up for a forever, could I get my memebership I paid so far off? That way, I can still reference to it and stuff, and when the mobile version comes out, I wouldve returned anyway, so it would be better if I just came back)
If that works out, well so much for a goodbye, ey?
September 27, 2011 at 2:49 pm #18126yes, you bet. You can apply what you paid – just email me and I can handle it all via the backend :)
Cheers!
