Hi, everybody here at textfugu! I just wanted to introduce myself to the community here. My name is Adam, and I am here to help me learn Japanese (shocker)! I am a quarter Japanese but have never gotten the chance to learn Japanese from my Grandmother. I hope to utilize textfugu and the awesome community here to help me be able to communicate with my in-laws, extended family as well as people I meet more easily. I’d really like to be able to say what I think rather than go through my wife to translate.

A good way to practice is to tell your wife not to translate, so you have no choice but to figure out what is going on yourself. When your brain knows it needs to do so, you’d be amazed at how quickly it stats to comply.
