Hello everyone! My name is Sarah, and I have been on again and off again trying to learn Japanese for most of my life, but always struggled to keep focused and grappled with poor resources and teachers. For the first time recently, I discovered that with the aid of medication to help keep my ADHD in check, and the use of Kochi & co’s wonderful resources and guides, I am finally making progress. What I couldn’t do in 15 years, I did in a couple of days with the learn Hiragana & learn Katakana guides. Now I’m ready to take that progress and push forward to learn even more!

The reason I have always wanted to learn Japanese is that I am a lover of media. Video games, films, cartoons, comics, novels, television… All of it. And so much of what has shaped my sensibilities and tastes has come from Nippon. So when I go looking for more things to read and watch and play and absorb, I find so much amazing content that has never seen the inside of a translator’s office. I could make do here and there for most of my life but I’m sick of it. I want to be able to enjoy as much of the content from Nippon as I do from the US and Canada and England and Australia… And one day I hope to be able to help translate more of that content into English so that even more people can enjoy it too.
