Hello all! My name is Geir, and I’m a 33 years old guy from Norway. Three days ago I started to learn Japanese, for reasons I have not yet been able to fully comprehend.

Considering that I don’t know anyone from Japan, that I have never been to Japan, and that the chances of me ever going to Japan are slim at best, I’m not exactly sure why I decided that this was a good idea! ^^ Nevertheless, I’m going to have a serious go at it – if only to prove a point to myself: that I can.

Status so far: I have just now finished season 1 here at TextFugu, and I feel like I know my hiragana chart inside out and upside down. I’m also able to both read and write text in hiragana – slowly, but steadily and without much trouble – so I now feel reasonably ready to start on season 2.

Wish me luck – I’ll need it! :P

Anyway, that’s the who and the why of things. Geir out. /wave

    ようこそ
To prove that I can. Main reason here too.
For remembering the vocabulary I use a method explained in some books by a (Norwegian) guy called Oddbjørn By. I Don’t really tell everyone here about them because they mainly come out in not Scandinavian languages.
    Have you heard about it?
I think you should take a look at it.

It’s surprising how much it can improve you ability to remember vocabulary.

    I wish you luck.
