Hi my name is Eirik and I’m from norway.

My first encounter with japanese is through anime. I started watching anime 3 years ago and it has been with me through hard and lonely times. After a year or so of watching anime I started getting interest outside of anime. I got interest for how they lived and how they ate. How their goverment works, and how their country is different from other countries.

After a while I wanted to learn their language and I wanted to speak it as close to a native japanese person would. I first learned Hiragana through different sites and books, and when I had learned hiragana I thought the next step for me was to learn katakana. That is when I found textfugu.

I tryed the first season of textfugu and it made me look at hiragana at a different perspective. I made hiragana make more sense that the different sources that I had used. I figured this is something that will help me thourgh my journey as a person wanting to learn japanese.

My name is Eirik and I am japanese enthusiast.

    こんいちは Eirik!

I too am very interested in Japanese due to liking their culture, how their society functions, and such. Japan functions very, very differently from the United States, where I am from.

I wish you the best on your TextFugu adventure. Feel free to post any questions/comments/concerns here. I can try to help, granted I am a novice, but I really enjoy helping people.

    Best,
    にんじん
