My name is Nicholas but I almost invariably go by Cole (’tis quite a long story).
English is my first language and I took four years of Spanish in school which I found very disillusioning. However, this year I decided to take Latin and got a fantastic teacher who sparked my interest in language.
Since then, I’ve been very interested in learning Japanese. Much of my favorite music and film was originally in the Japanese language and I’m interested in being able to understand the art in its original language. Additionally, I’m very interested in reading Japanese literature.
My ultimate goal in studying Japanese is to one day travel to Japan and perhaps even settle down there for life.
I’m excited to use TextFugu as one of the first steps to all of those goals. =)

Cole, welcome! I didn’t realize Latin was still being offered. I took a year of Latin in high school (1997) and really enjoyed it. It was a fun language and helped expose some of the craziness behind the English language. I had an awesome teacher and that probably helped. :)
