    Hey everyone!

My name’s Luke and I’m an 18 year old high school graduate out of Nashville, TN.

I’m a pretty big manga geek (more interested in classic shonen/seinen than anything) and casual gamer, mostly just RPG’s such as Zelda, Final Fantasy, etc.

I actually just recently became interested in the japanese culture, a little under three years ago. I’ve always grown up loving things that came from japan, or just asia in general, but I never could really put my finger on what it was I enjoyed about those things. Then I was introduced to an anime series (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) and things just kind of kept moving from there. Anime is what introduced me to Japan, but I’ve really come to love Japan and it’s culture all the same.

My intention is to become a translator, and If all goes well I’ll be heading to the Yamasa Institute in Okazaki-shi, Aichi-ken, to study Japanese formally next April. I’ve been studying Japanese using a website called Nihongo Master, but I felt like I wasn’t learning everything I needed to, and it felt unbalanced. I stumbled upon TextFugu recently and after trying the First Season out, I immediately fell in love with the approach and the way everything was organized, and hopped into a monthly subscription.

I’m glad to be hear and looking forward to learning Japanese with all of you! ^_^

Ooo, a translator? We talking, like, an interpreter, or a manga/anime translator?

aim for beyond and shatter the sky.

I laughed harder than I should have when I read this. XD I suppose it does sound like a Kamina quote, right?

And anime/manga translator would be cool, but I`m probably looking more so into doing interpretation. It will be awesome to always be meeting new people!
