    Hi Guys,

Absolute beginner of japanese here from the UK, thankfully I stumbled across textfugu early in my adventure. I have many reasons for wanting to learn japanese, but won’t go into them just yet.

I have just purchased the ‘forever & ever’ package here on textfugu and I am looking forward to getting further into the textbook.

I know a few basic sayings and have almost memorized hiragana ( just about to learn combo hiragana ).
Just stopped by to introduce myself!

    Cheers :)

    Hiya there!

Welcome to Textfugu. My name’s Emma, from the UK too… Liverpool (but don’t judge me :-P) I’m new to the forums and loving the site.

Oh, go on… give me at least one reason why you’re learning Japanese…

    Good luck with your studies,
    Take it easy ^-^

I have close family from liverpool, still not sure about the ‘don’t judge me’ tho’ :P

Well the biggest reason is hoping to move there sometime in the future, so having the language under my belt is great for employment…

    Cheers :)

I’m another person from the UK as well.
It’s nice for me to meet fellow British joining this website – I’ve felt alone for so long. :P

    Welcome to TextFugu, EddieB!

    Good luck learning Japanese.

Eh la, EddieB, go’ed, lad! Ha ha, I can mock as I’m not ACTUALLY Scouse (so you can say what you want :-P) Woo, more Brits! I like your motivation for learning; pre-emptive attack before you go. I lived in Costa Rica for a year and there was a whole community of expats that had lived there ages and spoke either little or NO Spanish. Their attitude was like “why bother, everyone speaks English”… it used to really get my goat. My Spanish sucked but at least I was trying… hhrumph!

Ahh… winter… didn’t know you felt that way… you now have some fellow country men and women to keep you company ;-)

    ^-^
