I’ve been studying japanese for oh… maybe a year now, without any main source (just looking up things here and there). My favorite source was smart.fm, and I had almost made it through the first part of the core 2000, but… we all know what happened to that… >.> And I’m finding it hard to warm up to anki- I seem to work better with physical flashcards instead :/

Anyways, I just started textfugu a couple days ago, and I have just finished with season 1. It went by pretty fast because I already know a lot of the stuff: I can easily read hiragana, I know katakana but I’m slow at it (it’s not as common, so it’s harder to get practice), and I recognize some vocab from when I was using smart.fm. There was a lot of new stuff though, like じゃありません. Season 2 looks like it’ll start to speed up to new stuff. I was a bit reluctant about buying textfugu, because of the price (*nudge nudge* Koichi). Bought the lifetime membership anyway lol

If I had to pick a main reason for learning Japanese, it would be for anime/manga. *dodges tomato* Second reason: because people would be like, “You know that guy can speak mother effin Japanese? He’s such a genius!!!”. My third reason is to turn my computer into Japanese mode so my friends/family can’t tell what I’m doing *mwahahaha!*

So yeah… I want to practice the kanji/vocab from season 1 for a bit before I move onto 2, and I thought I should stop by and introduce myself. And that’s how this post got here. And dang is it long, looking back on it…

I suggest throwing apples next time. They have a little more weight to them, so it’s easier to direct them when you throw them.

    And thanks :)

I throw a fish in your general direction! :)

Welcome to Textfugu. Good luck with your studies.
