Looking around the forums, I’m very excited to see people from all over the world and from many different backgrounds.  I am glad to be a part of this tight knit community and hope to form strong bonds with each other.

This year, I will be starting my freshman year in college in California as an electrical engineering major.  I speak three languages; Chinese and English fluently and Spanish semi-fluently.  I really enjoy learning new foreign languages and strongly believe that mastering a foreign language is important in understanding a culture.

Being an avid anime watcher, I was especially interested in Japanese culture and language.  Initially my goal in using TextFugu was to be able to understand anime without subtitles XD, but I soon realized that I could learn much more than that.  I hope that after finishing this course, I will be able to converse, write, and read fluently in Japanese.  I also hope to visit Japan one day and experience the culture first hand.
