I got Textfugu a couple weeks ago so I’m a little late with this but here it goes. My name is Robert and my reasons for wanting to learn Japanese have to do with a desire to watch anime in Japanese without subtitles and so that if I ever do have the chance to go to Japan that I won’t need to rely on translators or people who speak English. Other reasons include finding Japanese culture to be incredibly interesting even going back as far as 8 years old 「八才」 or so.

As I said I’m a little late on the self-introduction, I’m currently in Season 2 about to go to the Sentence Enders Chapter. Right after I study those verbs a little more.

    Welcome to TextFugu, Robert!

May I ask how old you are now?

    Good luck learning Japanese.

I’m 20. All I remember is reading some little book in school one day that I think was about the difference in American and Japanese culture that I really liked. Either way it mentioned that people in Japan take their shoes off before going into their own or other people’s houses and I thought that was awesome :)

    And thank you.

We do that here in the UK as well, haha.
Well, some of us do. It’s 50/50.
