Hello! I’m Chel from California. Housewife, writer, and general creative.

I’ve been toying with the idea of learning Japanese since high school, but never really put in the initial effort (my high school offered a Japanese course, but cancelled it the year I was eligible, my university didn’t offer Japanese at all) to try. After all this time, I think I’m finally ready. I want to watch new (undubbed) anime while I do other things, and still be able to follow the dialogue. I want to read manga and light novels unavailable in English. And I want to be able to play visual novels. I would love to eventually be able to visit Japan, but I don’t know that that will ever happen, so I’m focusing on the things I know I can accomplish :)

Hi. I’m Daniel from Canberra, Australia.

Just joined TF on a lifetime membership – good deal!

Okay, so I’ll share a few of the reasons I joined to learn Japanese.
    1. My seven year old daughter is bilingual and lives with her mother in Japan. I want to be able to communicate with her and other family members, her friends, teachers, etc. in Japanese.
    2. I want to be able to communicate easily and independently while traveling through Japan.
    3. I want to be able to understand Japanese film, TV, radio, literature and Managa.
    4. I want to be able to work in Japan whenever if need be.
They, in the main, are my reasons for wanting to learn Japanese.

    Thanks. All the best, everyone.
