Hey, I’m an 18 year old from Oregon, USA. I began using Textfugu roughly a year and a half ago, but got very busy and lost the habit of studying. Now, after several months of not having spoken a word of Japanese, I’m going to start again. I just finished high school, and am entering into an environmental engineering program at Oregon State University, and hope to do a study abroad in Japan during my Junior Year.
If you see this and happen to know anything about working in Japan as an engineer, I would greatly appreciate any information you could give me! ^.^
Good luck with your Japanese, everyone!

Hey Daniel, welcome to TextFugu! All of the TextFugu staff is located in PDX, so it’s nice to see another Oregonian on the forums. And OSU is a really good school, especially for engineering.

Anyway, good luck with your studies, both here and at OSU!

Hello and welcome! If you haven’t, you might want to check if there are any internship/research opportunities available in conjunction with your study abroad program there. I know some universities offer internships with their abroad programs in Japan, so OSU may be able to help you there.

I also hope to study abroad in Japan during my junior year. Should be exciting! Best of luck in your studies!
