    Hello,
My name is Nathaniel and I have continuously struggled to learn japanese over the years. This is mainly due to my lack of motivation. I hope that this time I remain disciplined enough to achieve my dream of learning japanese.

If anyone would like to share something that has kept them motivated in the past or present, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

Welcome! I guess… set yourself a goal? Like, a book you’d like to read, or a game you’d like to play. For example.

Hey! Fellow Oregonian here, and I’ve been studying pretty off and on as well. Hopefully I can get more consistent. I actually really like the idea of doing something along the lines of what Joel said where you work up to being able to read something. Like I have an old Japanese newspapers clipping that I’m trying to work up to being able to read. Something else you might try is setting a time goal. Like tell yourself “I have to have spent at least 2 hours on Japanese this week” or something like that. Then you can still fit it into your schedule wherever you want but you still have to spend time on it consistently.
