    Hi,

I’ve been interested in Japanese culture for quite a few years now and have been interested in learning the language for just as long. But I haven’t quite taken that step of commitment to learn the language before. Though, in the past I have done one semester of Japanese at university. It was fun, but I somehow didn’t feel the classroom environment to be for me. I always found speaking to be the most challenging in the sense I had trouble constructing sentences without creating a grammatical train wreck. I’m hoping with a fresh approach, textfugu will be great for me.

I am a university student and I do have a few commitments going on outside of uni- so I am generally pretty busy. However, I really want to be committed to learning Japanese too. I have a few friends who speak Japanese, so I’m hoping they can help me on my journey too.

Lucky! I wish I had a friend or two close by that would learn or could speak Japanese. All I can do is irritate my family. -_-

Thanks for the replies and encouragements :)

TangSooPap, I am fortunate in that regard. If I didn’t have people around me like this I think I would either get a tutor for conversation skills or try and find someone who wants to learn English who knows Japanese so that we could benefit off each other.
