    Hello Ladies and Gents,
I’ve been in Japan almost 8 years now, but never really made a proper concerted effort to study with any consistency. I’m determined to change that, starting with the lifetime membership here and a month on wanikani to try it out.

I look forward to interacting with people on here as we all travel on our journey towards the Japanese level we want to achieve.

Hi, Bluebriz! Might I ask what you do in Japan?

I think I’m going to have to take advantage of WaniKani soon. I’m hearing a lot of good things about it, and I only played around with it when it was first coming out, so I’m sure it’s a lot better at this point.

    Hi Codeacula,
like many others I teach English. I worked at Nova, YMCA, Interac, and now I work for a city language school, where the majority of my students are 18-20 year old high school graduates.

I’d like to learn Japanese to open up career opportunities for me, and to make life easier in day to day life.

Wonderful! I have always thought about wanting to do that, but since I have no desire at all to pay for a degree (I’m in the programming field with enough experience nobody requires it of me), I don’t see that being an option. Maybe picking up a programming job, though…

Anyway, good luck again! :) Feel free to speak up or just chat over in Off Topic if you want to keep yourself coming back here. I use the forums to lure me back because I’m bad at initially setting habits.
