Hello I am Joseph, pleased to meet everyone here. I don’t have a Japanese keyboard installed on this pc currently, on my other one I do, but for now let me break out the demon romaji.

Hajimemashite watashi no namae wa Joseph desu. Nihongo benkyoushiteimasu, nihongo wa yoku muzukashii demo nihongo suki desu.

My goal here is to just buckle down and learn the language within 4 years 2018. I plan to use any resource available including Textfugu of course. I would like to ask the forum though, what is the best way to learn new vocabulary? Do you learn by lists? Context and reading? or do you imagine the word with an image or a story and then recall? Some of those to me sound a lot slower than what I would like to learn. I feel like I have the will to do this because there is many things I would love to experience in Japanese.

    Thanks for hearing my rambling

Welcome to TextFugu and Happy New Year!

TextFugu will supply you with many vocab words, but you could also look at the Core 6k Anki deck as well.

    Check out the following links:

Guide for using Anki 2 with TextFugu:

Track your progress and share your ideas/concerns when you finish a season (gain a level ^_^):

List of additional Japanese resources you may find helpful:

There’s quite a few places to find vocab on that list.

Thanks a lot! I am already on Season 2 and am really enjoying this, it’s definitely helped more than Rosetta Stone did.
