    はじめまして!

I’m usually a forum lurker, not poster, but I figure with learning a language I should start getting familiar with interacting.
I’m a game developer (and teacher) from Melbourne, Australia. I’ve studied Japanese informally (and very badly) since high school. In my final year of my degree I took a tertiary level Japanese unit, and early last year I started using WaniKani. I absolutely love it, but I got busy and after several months… so more recently I’ve been trying to kick back into it.
I want to learn Japanese so I can play and analyse Japanese-only games; both for fun and to inform my development skills. I would love to visit Japan too, and maybe even one day work there.
I can’t wait to get to the point of just being good enough to read through a 3DS game or whatnot, but my vocab isn’t quite sufficient enough at this point. I hope in another half year – year of studying (proper studying) I’ll be able to struggle through something simple.

It’s a pleasure to meet you all.
    どうぞよろしく

Melbourne? I’m so very sorry. =P

Anyway, I’ve been playing a game in Japanese on my regular old DS. I’ve been managing with it surprisingly well. =)

Hi, LittleLamb! We’re kinda/sorta in the same field! I’m a developer and game designer, although not professionally on the game design/development yet. Too busy programming other things and all.

Good luck on your Japanese learning!

This place is a wasteland :(
